THORNBURGH SWEARS-IN GALE AS SEDGWICK
COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSIONER
WICHITA, KS- Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh today appointed Bill Gale to a second term as the Sedgwick County election commissioner. The ceremony took place at the Sedgwick County election office, located at 510 N. Main, #101 in Wichita, KS. Gale will serve a four-year term in office.
“Commissioner Gale is an asset to Sedgwick County and the state,” stated Ron Thornburgh, Secretary of State. “As our elections process undergoes a number of changes brought about by the federal Help America Vote Act, Sedgwick County has been at the forefront, being the first county in the state to utilize ELVIS, our electronic voter database, for an election.”
Bill Gale was first appointed by Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh on November 3, 2003, to fill the remainder of a four-year term upon the retirement of Marilyn Chapman.
