WYANDOTTE COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSIONER POSITION
Thornburgh appointed a five member search committee to handle the application and interview process. The committee members are: Nancy Bryant, chief of staff to the secretary of state; Brad Bryant, deputy assistant secretary of state for the Division of Elections and Legislative Matters; Dr Patricia Caruthers, Kansas City Community College, ret.; Angie Mitchell, Security Bank of Kansas City; Tom Roberts, Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS. The committee will complete the interview process and make a recommendation of three candidates to the secretary of state.
“It is important to have the right combination of community leaders, professionals, and election administrators involved in the process,” said Secretary Thornburgh. “I’m looking forward to receiving the committee’s recommendation and I hope to have the position filled by late April.”
Applications for the open position were due to the Secretary of State’s office by Thursday, March 2. The office received a total of 18 completed packets. The search committee began work this week to narrow that down to a smaller interview group and will start scheduling interviews next week.
