KANSAS NAMED TOP 10 ON ELECTION INTEGRITY
Wednesday, December 15, 2021
TOPEKA – Yesterday, the Heritage Foundation released its nationwide Election Integrity Scorecard, ranking Kansas in the top 10. The scorecard provides a breakdown of each state’s election laws and regulations and associates a score based on those merits. Review how Kansas scored here: https://www.heritage.org/electionscorecard/
“Kansas has been leading the Nation with forward-thinking election security laws for years. In fact, topics that are highly debated now, like voter ID and signature verification for mail ballots, have been in Kansas law for almost over a decade. In 2011, I was chairman of the House Elections Committee when The Secure and Fair Elections (SAFE) Act was passed and signed into law, solidifying our state’s commitment to voter integrity,” said Secretary of State Scott Schwab.
“Although this scorecard is reassuring, the work to safeguard election security and integrity does not stop. I will continue advocating for common sense security measures for the state of Kansas.”
