SECRETARY SCHWAB ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF POST-ELECTION AUDITS

TOPEKA – Today, Secretary of State Scott Schwab announced that all 105 Kansas counties have completed their post-election audit and close-race audit as required by state law. Post-election audits took place for the first time in Kansas under the Schwab administration in 2019, while the close-race audit was performed for the first time since Schwab’s election integrity bill became law following the 2022 legislative session.

The purpose of a post-election audit is to provide Kansans with verification of the vote count in each county.

Following the completion of each audit, counties are required to submit the results to the Secretary of State’s office for final approval. All 105 counties have completed their audits successfully. “Now more than ever Kansas voters can be assured that their vote was counted, and counted correctly,” said Schwab.
