Schwab Criticizes USPS Response to Mail Ballot Concerns
Saturday, September 28, 2024
TOPEKA – Secretary Scott Schwab recently brought attention to a critical issue following the 2024 Primary Election, where nearly 1,000 Kansas voters were disenfranchised due to the United States Postal Service's (USPS) operational failures in handling of mail ballots.
On September 9, Schwab sent a letter to the Postmaster General, outlining these concerns. However, instead of receiving a direct response from the Postmaster General, he received a generic reply from USPS that failed to address the core issues raised.
"I am deeply troubled by the USPS's dismissal of these concerns, especially given the November General Election is weeks away," Schwab said. "Rather than working with us to find solutions, they chose to overlook the problem."
