Notice of Requested Architectural Services

Notice is hereby given of the commencement of the selection process for architectural services for a Central Reflection Space at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. The KU Med community has not had a central reflection space on campus since Spencer Chapel was demolished in January 2020 to make way for the new Proton Therapy Treatment Center. The current project consists of the partial renovation of the Ground Level of Orr Major to create a new contemplative space available for anyone to use for reflection and meditation in the terraced retail space previously occupied by the university bookstore. The new space will cultivate an inclusive environment of traditions and reflection while tending to the sacredness in ourselves, our community, and beyond. The project construction budget is $1,650,881.
