The Kansas Register is the official state newspaper. This publication provides a wide range of information such as proposed and adopted Kansas administrative regulations, new state laws, bond sales and redemptions, notice of open meetings, state contracts offered for bid, Attorney General opinions, and many other public notices.
The Kansas Register is published every Thursday. If a holiday falls on a Thursday, the Kansas Register will still be published. However, the submission deadline for the next publication may be affected.
Submission Deadline: The submission deadline for each publication is 5:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the desired publication date, unless otherwise stated.

Holiday Submission Deadline Changes
The Secretary of State's Office will be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
There will still be a Register issue published on November 27.
The submission deadline for the December 4, 2025 issue will be 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26.
The Secretary of State's Office will be closed Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26 for the Christmas holiday.
There will still be a Register issue published on December 25.
The submission deadline for the January 1, 2026 issue will be 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24.
The Secretary of State's Office will be closed Thursday, January 1, 2026 for the New Year's holiday.

The submission deadline for the January 8, 2026 issue will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 2.
