Notice to Contractors

Northeast Kansas Community Action Program, Inc (NEK-CAP, Inc.) Weatherization, located in Hiawatha, Kansas, is a non-profit corporation that does retrofit weatherization work on homes for the elderly, low-income, and individuals with disabilities.

NEK-CAP, Inc’s Weatherization Program is currently seeking contractors interested in working alongside our team to provide communities with weatherization services, which include general contracting, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.

Weatherization services will be provided through NEK-CAP, Inc. in the following counties: Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Nemaha, and Shawnee. When expressing your interest please have an idea of which counties you are willing to perform work in.

  • Other criteria (to be specified by the department requesting the proposal).

Requirements to provide weatherization services for NEK-CAP, Inc. will include but may not be limited to:

  • Federal ID number (W-9).
  • Proof of liability insurance.
  • Workman’s compensation.
  • Contractor not appearing on the federal debarment lists.

If your company specializes in any of these areas or has the capabilities to expand skills to perform weatherization services, we invite you to respond with interest as we will proceed with providing more detail, additional resources, requirements, and guidelines with the goal of your company partnering with us.
