Request for Proposals

The Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) is soliciting competitive fee proposals from qualifying attorneys and/or firms with the intent to provide representation of KPERS in appeals of its determinations regarding its long-term disability plan.

Candidates should respond to this Request for Proposals for the purpose of representing KPERS in appeals within its long-term disability plan from the administrative level through the court of final determination. The KPERS disability plan covers all active members of KPERS’ tiers one, two, and three and is governed by K.S.A. 74-4901 et seq., and in particular, K.S.A. 74-4927. Kansas Police and Fire disability benefits are provided by K.S.A. 74-4960 and K.S.A. 74-4960a. Medical review and consultation is administered by Davies Life and Health, Inc.

Details are available in the Request for Proposals document at KPERS’ website at http://www.kspers.gov. Proposals must be received in the KPERS office by 3:00 p.m. (Central Time) April 22, 2026.
