Executive Directive No. 25-598
Authorizing Personnel Transactions

By virtue of the authority vested in the Governor as the head of the Executive Branch of the State of Kansas, the following transactions are hereby authorized:

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to establish the Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee job classification, assign the job classification to pay grade 24, and establish step 9 of pay grade 24 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to establish the Highway Maintenance Worker I job classification, assign the job classification to pay grade 25, and establish step 10 of pay grade 25 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to establish the Highway Maintenance Worker II job classification, assign the job classification to pay grade 26, and establish step 10 of pay grade 26 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to establish the Highway Maintenance Worker III job classification, assign the job classification to pay grade 28, and establish step 9 of pay grade 28 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to establish the Highway Maintenance Worker IV job classification, assign the job classification to pay grade 29, and establish step 9 of pay grade 29 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to establish the Highway Maintenance Assistant Supervisor job classification, assign the job classification to pay grade 30, and establish step 11 of pay grade 30 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to assign the Highway Maintenance Supervisor job classification to pay grade 32, place all employees in the job classification on the same step of the new pay grade as the step to which they are assigned in the current pay grade, and establish step 11 of pay grade 32 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

The request of Kraig Knowlton, Director of Personnel Services, to assign the Highway Maintenance Superintendent job classification to pay grade 36, place all employees in the job classification on the same step of the new pay grade as the step to which they are assigned in the current pay grade, and establish step 11 of pay grade 36 as the entry rate for the job classification is hereby approved, effective October 26, 2025.

I have conferred with the Secretary of Administration, the Director of the Budget, the Director of Personnel Services, and members of my staff, and I have determined that the requested action is appropriate.
