Notice of Requested Architectural and Engineering Services

Notice is hereby given of the commencement of the selection process for architectural and mechanical-electrical-plumbing (MEP) engineering services for infrastructure replacement in Sudler Hall at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). KUMC has elected to upgrade the failing and inefficient MEP infrastructure in Sudler Hall (Building #07) at this time in an effort to limit any damage to recent and ongoing remodel work in the building.

Sudler Hall is currently used for office spaces and support areas for the health system due to the close proximity to the hospital. It serves a very important use with the main campus datacenter housed in the basement. Additionally, recently renovated areas on the east/west wing for the Rehab Bioengineering Offices were constructed in 2014 on 1st Floor and the ZIEL Simulation labs were built in 2015 on ground floor. This plan assumes that the future use of the building will stay the same. The project construction budget is $1,296,500.00. An architectural/engineering program is available at http://admin.ks.gov/offices/ofpm/dcc/arch-eng-programs. For more information contact AJ Woodworth at awoodworth@kumc.edu or 913-588-9006.

To be considered, one (1) PDF file of the following should be provided: State of Kansas Professional Qualifications DCC Forms 051-054, inclusive, and information regarding similar projects. These forms may be found at https://admin.ks.gov/offices/facilities-property-management/design-construction--compliance/forms-and-documents. Proposals should be less than 5 Mb and follow the current State Building Advisory Commission guidelines which can be found in Part B – Chapter 2 of the Building Design and Construction Manual at https://admin.ks.gov/offices/facilities-property-management/design-construction--compliance/building-design-and-construction-manual-bdcm. Paper copies and flash drives containing copies of the proposals are not required.

Proposals should be sent to professional.qualifications@ks.gov. Proposals received after the date and time noted below will not be forwarded to the State Building Advisory Commission for review. If you have questions about the proposal submissions, please contact Randy Riveland at randy.riveland@ks.gov or call 785-296-0749.
